※ […] Although there are no scriptures about headscarf in Hebrew Bible, the rabbis asked women to wear headscarves after they’re married and claimed that this is a virtue to do so.

“As married women can only show their hair to their husbands.”

Today, Orthodox Hebrew women still follow this clothing rule.

※ Christianity, which derives from the Judaism, also inherits such rule.

1 Corinthians 11:5 King James Bible

“But every woman that prayeth or prophesieth with her head uncovered dishonoureth her head: for that is even all one as if she were shaven.”

1 Corinthians 11:5 English Revised Version

“But every woman praying or prophesying with her head unveiled dishonoureth her head: for it is one and the same thing as if she were shaven.”

(Treasury of Scripture)

※ Although the Quran didn’t mention about wearing headscarves, […] In the Hadith, edited by religious scholars generations after the time of Muhammad (ﷺ), there are specified requirements of wearing headscarves.

For instance, in Sahih al-Bukhari, it is said the wives of Muhammad stated that Muslim women should wear headscarves to cover their neck and chest.

Muhammad himself pointed out:

“Women should wear headscarf after the menarche during Salah.”

※ Master Chin Kung(Buddhism):

“Some people told me that I should encourage young girls not to have exposed clothing. Why? Because that brings you karma which leads you to hell.

Overexposure seduces others, and by doing so you are committing a karma of crime.

You just don’t know.

But when the time comes, it’s already too late.

Let’s take a look at the Painting of Scenes of the Hells.

In the Peta, they’re still wearing clothes.

Turning to Naraka, they’re not wearing clothes.

They are naked.

Look at the painting!

The less you wear, the closer you get to the hell. […]

So we have compliments to Muslim women for their clothing.

They completely cover themselves.

Sisters from the Catholic also have tidy clothing.

No parts of their body are exposed.

Especially the Islamic headscarves only allow them reveal their two eyes.

That’s the most standard formal attire. […]”

Master Chin Kung:

“Women in ancient China wouldn’t show off their body. They didn’t reveal their whole hands but only some digits. Their sleeves were long enough to cover here. They just won’t let you have a chance to see it.”
