We often remind all the students during the lecture that

while we live in this world,

we have to know

what Buddhism shows and teaches us.

In conclusion, the Buddha's teachings

only teach us three things: the first is to teach us how to get along with people, the second is to teach us how to be live in peace with natural environment, and the third is to teach us to maintain good relationship with heaven, earth and ghosts.

Buddha often says on Dajing,

“protects and thinks of all Bodhisattvas and blessed by Dharmapala.”

If we carry out a clear and pure mind and implement good deeds

as well as practice Buddhism according to the doctrine and law,

we will be blessed and protected by heavenly gods and benevolent deities.

Ghosts will not pick on you.

Young people in the current generation

are given the concept of science.

They will not believe it

and say

no ghost exists in the world.

We have lived in U.S. for many years.

There are always a lot of ghost stories in the states.

Many big cities have haunted houses.

It is true, not kidding! We have seen it and heard of it.

One of our Fellow practitioners, Lay Buddhist Kuei-Sui Kan.

She carries very good practices.

She used to live in a haunted house when she worked in San Francisco.

She told me that

it was usually at 12 midnight every day that

the ghost would appear.

According to her, a foul odor would be present

a few minutes before the ghost appear.

It was a very bad smell.

She usually smelled it before

Seeing the ghost.

The ghost was green-faced and long-toothed and

very terrifying in appearance.

It was her foe and creditor

coming to ask for her life.

When seeing the ghost is approaching,

She kept chanting Amitābha as much as she can.

The ghost was standing there without moving

in about the distance of only 3 or 4 yards away.

She continued chanting until dawn,

and the ghost left.

She said if she didn’t chant,

the ghost would approach her.

Once she chanted Amitābha,

the ghost would stop where it was.

It happened every night, not just one night.

She was very brave! We asked her,

why did you not consider moving out?

She said,

it was not bad because it forced me to chant Amitābha in concentration. Without the ghost in front of me, I might forget to chant Amitābha every day.

It is definitely not a fake story to

spread rumors and cheat people.

We have seen a lot of

similar situations in the U.S.

During the war,

I also saw a lot in Mainland China.

If you want to know whether there is any ghost at all,

I can tell you,

It is definitely yes.

Why? I have seen it.

Why do you not believe? You have not seen it in person.
